The U.S. National Toboggan Championships is the largest fundraising event for Camden Snow Bowl, the town-owned four-season recreation area including skiing, snowboarding and tubing. The Snow Bowl is also home to the Jack R. Williams Toboggan Chute, which was built by volunteers and opened for winter sliding fun in 1936.

The toboggan chute was rebuilt in the 1960s and again in 1990, and the inaugural Toboggan Nationals were held as a celebration of a cherished community treasure. It has since grown into a thrilling weekend of races, fun and fundraising, and is held annually the first full weekend in February.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the countless numbers of volunteers who have made this event possible year after year. From registration and inspections to timing, scoring and launching teams down the chute, their efforts and those of the committee members who plan and prepare year-round are invaluable. And of course, we celebrate the racers!

Their financial and in-kind support helps cover event costs and provide needed materials and services while helping contribute to the ongoing viability of the Snow Bowl.
